Bible Verses for Strength and Protection
Are you feeling anxious or afraid? Does fear overwhelm you?
Fear shadows humanity from birth to death. Interestingly, most fears are irrational. At the root of fear lies a disconnection from God. When we are united with Him, we are strengthened and grounded. The one who kneels before God can stand before anyone.
The Bible offers unwavering assurance: do not fear—God is with you in every circumstance. The phrase “Do not be afraid” or “Fear not” appears 365 times throughout Scripture.
From Genesis to Revelation, God continually reminds us not to be afraid.
1. “Even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.” — Luke 12:7
2.“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust; I am not afraid.” — Psalms 56:3–4
3.“According to the promise that I made you when you came out of Egypt, my spirit abides among you; do not fear.” Haggai 2:5
4.“You came near when I called on you; you said, ‘Do not fear!’” - Lamentations 3:57
5.“Do not fear them, for it is the Lord your God who fights for you.” - Deuteronomy 3:22
6.“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10
7.“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me.” - Psalms 23:4
8.“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall, I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” - Psalms 27:1
9.“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not
fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult.” - Psalms 46:1-3
10.“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.” - John 14:27
Prayer
Thank you, Lord, for your promise of strength and protection in times of fear and distress. May your eternal words dispel my anxiety. Let your holy Scriptures uplift and empower me. Amen.
